Subscriber mg't co ComAbility in European telecom deal

The initial stage of the project will include several million subscribers

Telecom subscriber and services management and operations developer ComAbility has won a contract to provide subscriber management on a European Tier 1/PTT operator network.

The initial stage of the project will include several million subscribers, and is the third win of similar scope for Herzliya-based ComAbility over the past year.

The company did not disclose the financial terms of the deal, but it is estimated at several million dollars.

ComAbility's neXus platform will enable the operator to automate subscriber and service provisioning, tracking, and troubleshooting, and introduce centralized management to the Cisco subscriber-aware Service Control Engine. neXus automates and simplifies the deployment and operation of policy control.

A branded, self-care portal will allow subscribers to choose their own service options, including self registration and speed control via a turbo button to temporarily increase bandwidth for movies or similar activities.

ComAbility products enable next-generation service providers to use a unified platform to manage all their subscriber and service operations easily and securely.

In November 2007, ComAbility raised $6 million from Israeli VC firms Vertex Venture Capital and Stata Ventures.

In September, 2008, Oracle (Nasdaq: ORCL) invested in the company through a collaboration with the Chief Scientist at the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor. ComAbility will collaborate with Oracle on the building of a diversified data session repository based on an Oracle database.
