Options point to rise in shekel-dollar rate

The TASE opened the week lower, following drops on Wall Street on Friday.

Options trading is pointing to a 0.4% rise in the shekel-dollar exchange rate to NIS 4.163/$, and to a 0.15% drop in the shekel-euro exchange rate to NIS 5.6182/€. There is no inter-bank foreign currency trading on Sundays.

The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) opened the week lower, following drops on Wall Street on Friday. The Tel Aviv 25 Index fell 0.35%.

On Friday, the Central Bureau of Statistics released Consumer Price Index (CPI) figures, which showed a 1% rise in April. Over the past 12 months, inflation as measured by the CPI rose 3.1%, slightly above the upper limit of the target range of 1-3%.

Also on Friday, the Bank of Israel set the representative shekel-dollar exchange rate 0.217% lower at NIS 4.145/$, and set the representative shekel-euro exchange rate 0.192% lower at NIS 5.6266/€.
