Sources inform ''Globes'' that the Ministry of Finance wants to bring forward by one the year the timetable for establishing a national energy authority to the beginning of 2010 from January 2011, as originally proposed in the economic arrangements bill.

The new energy authority will be a kind of super-regulator that will include, the Natural Gas Authority, the Electricity Authority, and the Infrastructure Resources Management Division, all of which are currently part of the Ministry of National Infrastructures, as well as the Public Utilities Authority (Electricity).
