Options point to continued drop in shekel-dollar rate

The rate hit NIS 4.256/$ in April, and has fallen since then.

Options trading is pointing to a 0.6% drop in the shekel-dollar exchange rate to NIS 4.077/$, and to a 1.12% rise in the shekel-euro exchange rate to NIS 5.56/€. There is no inter-bank foreign currency trading on Sundays.

About a year ago, the shekel-dollar rate was NIS 3.461/$, and it ended 2008 at NIS 3.802/$. It peaked at NIS 4.256/$ at the end of April, and has fallen since then.

On Friday, the Bank of Israel set the representative shekel-dollar exchange rate 0.798% lower at NIS 4.101/$, and set the representative shekel-euro exchange rate 0.453% lower at NIS 5.4982/€.
