Olympic tide raises sports websites

"Globes" is the top economic news site surfed at work.

The latest TIM/Teleseker August website weekly exposure rate survey shows that last month's Beijing Olympic Games boosted sports sites. Sport5 narrowed the gap with One with a 36% gain in its weekly exposure to reach 15th place of all online news sites, up from 20th in July. One gained 12% and is in 14th place.

The top ten websites lost considerable weekly exposure rates. Fifth place Nana10 fell 12% after launching its new portal in July. MSN Israel lost 14% following its restructuring, falling to eighth place in August from sixth place in July.

The weekly exposure rate of newest site in the Teleseker survey, Bezeq144 fell by 14% in August to 13th place, while its main competitor, Golden Pages rose to 11th place, despite a 6% loss in its weekly exposure rate.

In the surfing at work segment, the critical variable among users of economic news sites, "Globes" has a strong lead, with a weekly exposure rate of 16.3%, giving it eighth place overall. "Globes" is the only economic news site among Teleseker's top ten sites surfed at work. "Globes'" weekly exposure rate for surfing from home rose by 17% in August to 12.5%.
