C'tee names candidate for Tax Authority head

After receiving the news, Nasradishi told a friend, "I'm as excited as a kid."

Acting Israel Tax Authority director general Yehuda Nasradishi has been given the nod by the search committee. Minister of Finance Ronnie Bar-On informed Nasradishi of the committee's decision.

After receiving the news, Nasradishi told a friend, "I'm as excited as a kid." For the past year, he has faced a near-impossible work environment. Serving as acting director general crippled his ability to function, and prevented him from making senior appointments, which would have resulted in a fait accompli after his departure. As an acting director, he was unable to institute any far-reaching changes at the Tax Authority.

Nasradishi, 63, was born in Tehran and immigrated to Israel as a child. His family settled in the Musrara neighborhood of Jerusalem before the Jewish Agency moved them to Moshav Givolim in the Negev.
