Justice system opposes plan for economic court

The idea has been pushed by new Securities Authority chairman Zohar Goshen since he took up his post.

Sources inform ''Globes'' that the justice system rejects the establishment of a special economic court for company law, but is considering the establishment of a separate internal economic department.

Israel Securities Authority chairman Zohar Goshen recently held a series of meetings with senior justice officials, as well as with Ministry of Finance director general Yarom Ariav and Minister of Justice Daniel Friedmann to discuss the issue. Goshen has been pressing the issue of a special economic court since taking up his post and has submitted a written report recommending it.
