Jerusalem welcomed record number of Passover visitors

Around a quarter million people saw the Old City walls multimedia performance.

Over one million visitors came to Jerusalem over last week's Passover holiday. According to the Jerusalem municipality, which released the figures, the number of visitors to the capital represents the highest total in the past 20 years.

Approximately 250,000 visitors viewed the Old City walls multimedia performance. For the first time, the municipality closed routes to Jerusalem's Old City and operated shuttles from organized parking lots. More than 50,000 people used these shuttles daily.

Mayor Uri Lupolianski noted that the municipality’s advance arrangements enabled hundreds of thousands of visitors to join the events and visit the Old City without encountering any problems or delays.
