Emblaze Mobile will unveil the product next year.
Emblaze Ltd. (LSE: BLZ) subsidiary Emblaze Mobile Ltd. has signed an agreement with Sharp Corporation (TSE:67530) and Access Co. Ltd. (TSE:48130) to develop next-generation mobile devices. The device will be first unveiled during 2008.
Emblaze Mobile said that it jointly developed the device with several Israeli high-tech companies, and it includes leading mobile and computing technologies. Sources estimate that $100 million was invested in development.
Emblaze added that Sharp is the leading mobile device developer and manufacturer in Japan and Access is a global leader in embedded software. The companies will jointly execute the hardware and software implementation for development and manufacturing.
Emblaze CEO Guy Bernstein said, "The device represents one of the most ambitious projects in the high-tech mobile industry. This landmark agreement with Sharp and Access represents a significant progress in joining forces with some of the strongest mobile players in the world."
