AON to provide brokerage services to Israeli cos in Europe

AON Israel has also been confirmed as an authorized agent for the World Bank’s Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency.

International insurance broker Aon Corp (NYSE: AOC) wants to expand its collaboration with Israeli companies in Eastern Europe, and has appointed executive Jacques Cornel to coordinate this activity at its Israel branch, which is headed by chairman Ilan Beck and general manager Rony Zussman. The goal is win a foothold among the growing number of Israeli companies operating in the region. AON will provide brokerage services in Hebrew for these companies in the same way that it now provides Hebrew-language services for companies in Israel.

AON Israel will also continue to expand its activity in the domestic market. The company recently won an insurance tender by the National Coal Supply Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of Israel Electric Corporation (IEC). Market sources believe that the annual premiums from this contract total $700,000-900,000. AON will serve as the National Coal Supply’s insurance broker for cargos, liability for leasing ships, and other services.

Two months ago, AON Israel was confirmed as an authorized agent for the World Bank’s Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), which insures against political risks. AON Israel will offer political risk insurance to government agencies and private companies.
