Elbit Systems unit wins $97m US Marines order

Kollsman will test, repair, and modify systems for Marine Corps Cobra helicopters.

Elbit Systems Ltd. (Nasdaq: ESLT; TASE: ESLT) subsidiary Kollsman Inc. has won an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract for testing, repairing and modifying systems used in AH-1 W US Marine Corps Cobra helicopters. The contract could be worth up to $97 million over five years, and Kollsman has already received an initial $14 million order.

Kollsman will carry out the work at its plant in Merrimack, New Hampshire, through 2012. The company will test, tear down, analyze, repair and modify night targeting systems, weapon repairable assemblies, and system repairable assemblies. The US Naval Inventory Control Point-Philadelphia/Naval Supply Systems Command placed the order.

Kollsman EVP and general manager Randy Moore said, “We are very pleased to be selected by the NAVICP/NAVSUP. This contract continues Kollsman’s important work supporting the Marine Corps helicopter mission readiness and demonstrates excellent relations with this depot legacy program.
