Hapoalim Switzerland opens Singapore branch

This is the first branch of an Israeli bank in the Far East.

Bank Hapoalim (LSE: BKHD; TASE: POLI) subsidiary Bank Hapoalim Switzerland today opened a branch in Singapore. This is the first branch of an Israeli bank in the Far East; until now, the bank only had a representative office in Hong Kong. The Singapore branch will provide Israeli investors with advice about and immediate responses to developments in Asian markets, as well as access to leading Asian companies.

Bank Hapoalim CEO Zvi Ziv said, “Bank Hapoalim is pleased and proud to be the first Israeli bank to open a branch in Singapore, through our international arm, Bank Hapoalim Switzerland. One of our primary business strategy goals is to become a global bank, with services deployed worldwide. Singapore is the leading private banking center in Asia, and opening a branch there will make a significant and long-term contribution towards Israel’s ongoing integration into the global economy.”
