Average Passover eve credit card spending seen at NIS 700

Pre-holiday shopping will reach a peak in the four days before the start of the holiday.

The average credit card expenditure on the eve of the Passover holiday will reach NIS 700, accord to analysts at credit transaction clearance company Gama Management and Clearing.

An analysis of customer behavior in the run-up to holiday seasons in recent years shows that the average credit card spend was 20% higher than normal at NIS 685-700. The current average credit card spend is NIS 585 and it is expected to rise to NIS 700 as has been the case in previous years.

A multiyear analysis of consumer behavior shows that people begin shopping for the holiday ten days in advance, with trade reaching a peak four days before the actual start of the holiday. This means that holiday shopping will begin this year on March 25 lasting and peak on March 29.
