Toronto Exchange delegation to meet 10 Israeli high-tech cos

The Canadians want Israeli companies to hold IPOs in Toronto.

A delegation from the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX), investment houses and lawyers will arrive in Israel on Sunday to meet Israeli high-tech companies to try to interest them in holding issues on the TSX. Sources inform ''Globes'' that the delegation will meet ten Israeli high-tech companies, Meytav Technological Enterprises Innovation Center Ltd. and Apax Partners Israel.

Israel-Canada Chamber of Commerce & Industry president Yehuda Raveh organized the visit.

The TSX is the world’s second largest stock market for high-tech companies after Nasdaq. Until now, Israeli companies that decided to forego Nasdaq usually turned to London’s Alternative Investment Market (AIM). The delegation will meet ten companies that are considering Toronto as an alternative to London, especially since Toronto has access to capital in North America. The TSX also has a special market for start-ups with easier registration terms, lower fees, at substantially lower company values than required by Nasdaq.
