Procurement managers index down 1.5%

The index fell 1.5% to 55.4% in January from 55.9% in December.

The D&B Israel and Israel Purchasing and Logistics Managers Association’s Procurement Managers Index fell 1.5% to 55.4% in January from 55.9% in December, although the latest figure nevertheless completes 15 consecutive months of expansion. 50% is the threshold between economic expansion and contraction.

The index’s key components have continued to expand for the 23rd consecutive month, despite a fall in manufacturing and demand for workers in the manufacturing sector in January. Demand for products was mixed, with domestic demand for Israeli products falling while overseas demand for Israeli products rose.
