HOT will not drop BBC Prime

BBC Prime agreed to cut the price HOT pays to air the station by 30-40%.

Hot Cable Systems Media Ltd. (TASE: HOT) reached a deal with BBC Prime last night, and the company will not cut the station from its basic package, HOT CEO David Kaminitz has announced. BBC Prime agreed to cut the price HOT pays to air the station by 30-40%.

Kaminitz said that HOT will save NIS 100 million in 2007 as a result of the new contracts signed with content providers at reduced rates. As part of its strategy to cut content costs, HOT will henceforth only sign one-year contracts with content providers, instead of long-term contracts, as was its previous practice.
