Pitango Venture Capital appoints Eitan Bek partner

Bek joined Pitango in 2000, specializing in semiconductors.

Pitango Venture Capital has appointed Eitan Bek a partner, specializing in semiconductors and wireless communications. He joined Pitango in 2000, and has handled investments in and worked closely with 3DV Systems Ltd., target=new href=http://www.discretix.com/>Discretix Technologies Inc., Packetlight Networks Ltd. and Provigent Ltd.

Pintago managing general partner Nechemia (Chemi) J. Peres said, “We promoted Bek to partner on the basis of his rich experience in accompanying Pitango’s investments over the past six years. As a partner, he will continue to devote his time to our portfolio companies, as well as handle new investments.”

Prior to joining Pitango, Bek worked at Lehman Brothers, where he initiated and managed a special technology project, enabling institutional investors to manage their accounts online. He was a member of the incubator team that founded BeautifulIsland.com, which planned to become the first Internet company to help people without Internet know-how benefit from its advantages.

In the mid-90s, Bek served as director of system specification group at Elbit Systems Ltd. (Nasdaq: ESLT; TASE: ESLT). In this role, he led development teams for aviation upgrade projects, was directly responsible for R&D projects at customers with an aggregate value of $100 million, and was responsible for marketing upgrade suites
