The unemployment rate is expected to fall to 8.3% of the civilian labor force during the fourth quarter, from 8.5% in the third quarter.
The unemployment rate remained unchanged in October at 8.4% of the civilian labor force, or 237,000 persons, the same rate as in August and September, the Central Bureau of Statistics reported today.
The unemployment rate is expected to fall to a monthly average of 8.3% of the civilian labor force during the fourth quarter, from 8.5% in the third quarter and 8.8% in the second quarter. The unemployment rate is 2.5% less than the 10.9% rate in the fourth quarter of 2003, a reduction of 70,000 unemployed persons.
