IXI wins follow-on Swisscom Mobile contract

Swisscom Mobile is adding SMS to IXI Mobile’s Ogo service.

Israel Technology Acquisition Corporation (ITAC) (ISLT.OB) fully-owned subsidiary IXI Mobile Inc. has signed a follow-on contract with Swisscom Mobile, Switzerland’s largest wireless operator, to add SMS service to the Ogo service provided by IXI. Swisscom Mobile launched its Ogo service in October 2005.

The size of the contract was not disclosed.

The Ogo family of devices delivers popular applications, including email, instant messaging, SMS, RSS, voice and Web browsing services. IXI has over four million customers for its Ogo service at a price of $15 per month for unlimited messaging.

IXI Mobile president and CEO Amit Haller said, “We consider Swisscom Mobile a valued partner that has demonstrated an outstanding capability to launch a revolutionary service and reach a critical market penetration in a very short period of time. We are delighted to work with Swisscom Mobile in upgrading the service, and bringing more functionality to Ogo's customer base in Switzerland.”

IXI was founded in 2000. In March 2006, it merged with stock market shell ITAC to enter Nasdaq by the back door. ITAC has a market cap of $36 million.
