Central Bottling Co to market Carlsberg beer in Albania

The company will probably import beer produced at its plant in Romania, which has $100 million in sales.

Sources inform ''Globes'' that Central Bottling Co. (Coca-Cola Israel) has won a franchise to market Carlsberg and Tuborg beer in Albania. The company will probably import beer produced at its plant in Romania, jointly owned with Jafora-Tabori CEO Roni Gat. The Romanian factory, which has been operating for several years, has $100 million in sales.

Central Bottling Co. said in response that marketing would initially be based solely on imports, and that the company would later consider setting up a beer production facility.

Carlsberg (KFX:CARL) currently operates in the Balkans directly. Central Bottling Co. partner Prigat Ltd. has successful operations in Romania, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Moldavia and other Balkan countries.
